Wedding at Grace River Island Resort in Fort Myers, FL
Grace River Island Resort feels like a hidden cove off the Caloosahatchee—reachable by a single palm-lined drive yet worlds away from downtown Fort Myers. Inside the airy bridal suite, Megan slipped into a minimalist crepe gown with a dramatic plunge and petal-beaded train, her bridesmaids swirling around her in cool satin tones of ice-blue. Downstairs, Mark toasted with his groomsmen over small-batch bourbon, their classic black tuxes contrasting the resort’s coastal whites and driftwood textures.
Guests took their seats on the 360-degree water-front view, without the sand (hello, heel-friendly turf!). flanked by soaring palms dancing in the breeze. Instead of an arch, the couple chose a crescent of ground florals—white garden roses, fluffy mums, delphinium buds, and baby’s breath—so nothing blocked the endless water view. As Megan walked the aisle, sunlight caught the beading on her veil, creating a shimmer that echoed off the Caloosahatchee. Vows were heartfelt and humorous; a sailboat drifted past at the exact moment they sealed it with a kiss—pure Florida magic.
After “I do,” we chased the pastel sky, weaving through curved palm trunks and along the resort’s dock. Megan’s veil fluttered in the river breeze while Mark’s tux jacket caught pockets of amber light—moments that felt straight out of a vintage postcard.
